A much celebrated love story, it is in prose, probably written by Ḥabīb b. Rabboh; the numerous verses with which the composition is interspersed are attributed to Majnūn himself (as the story's eponymous hero is named after having fallen in love with Laylá).

Scope and Contents A complete manuscript, in good preservation, of the first part of a much celebrated romance. It contains an account of the exploits of Alexander the Great as a conqueror, and was written in admirable verse by the famous Shaykh Jamal al-Dīn Abū Muḥammad Ilyas b. Mu'ayyad Niẓām al-Dīn, "Niẓāmī" of Ganjah, who was born at Qum (Iran), 535 A.H. (1140 C.E.), and probably died 599 A.H. (1203 C.E.), though the dates of his death are variously described, 576-607 A.H. (1180-1210 C.E.). ...

A fine complete copy of the rendition, in Persian, of Kalīlah and Dimnah, by Kamāl al-Dīn Ḥusayn Vāʿiẓ Kāshifī, born ca. 840 A.H. (1436-37 C.E.) died. 910 A.H. (1504-5 C.E.).

The Alf laylah, on the flyleaf labelled Qiṣṣah-i hizār-u yik shab or the "One Thousand and One Nights" in Persian, translated from the original Arabic, with the omission of the verses by Abū al-Qāsim b. Muḥammad 'Alī Simnānī Sāsānī.

A celebrated collection of historical tales and anecdotes, by Mawlānā Nūr al-Dīn Muḥammad 'Aufī, also known as Sadr al-Dīn, or Jamāl al-Dīn 'Aufī, who also compiled one of the earliest biographies of poets, called Lubāb al-Albāb. The present work was composed in 625 A.H. (1227 C.E.).

Scope and Contents The story of King Āzād Bakhsh, his son Bakhtiyār, and the four dervishes. It is written in florid prose interspersed with verse. The work is commonly ascribed to the most celebrated Persian poet of India, Amīr Khusrow of Dehli (d. 725 A.H., 1324 C.E.). The present copy has at the end an extensive vocabulary of the difficult words occurring in the text. The tales of the four dervshes begin respectively on fols. 4b, 22b, 71a, and 835. Scope and Contents

The work is a romance of Jahāndār-Sulṭan and Bahrawar-Bānū, told by means of a number of amusing tales. It was compiled by Shaykh 'Ināyat-allāh of Dehli (d. 1082 A.H., 1671 C.E.). The work is in two volumes, OR MS 121 and 122. Though the two volumes are not uniform in size, etc., the second is a continuation of the first and contains an index to it.
